Bypassing windows login screen – with Kon-Boot
System Requirements: Kon-Boot 1.0 works with the 32-bit Windows versions including XP, Vista and a few Windows Server OS’s.
Kon-boot is just one of many great tools out on the Internet. It has the power to remove all passwords by temporary modifying BIOS. Unfortunately it seems like the free version recently got removed from the publishers web-site so we fixed a mirror to the image and put together a little tutorial to get you ready! If you like the application, consider buying the full version and supporting the publisher. The currently pricing is no more expensive than a few beers.
Step 1 – Download the image
First you need to download the ISO image:
- Official website: http://piotrbania.com/all/kon-boot/index.html
- Alternative download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vckx8lwnc0phyay/CD-konboot-v1.1-2in1.iso
Step 2 – Burn the ISO file
Use the built in software (Windows, Mac, Linux) or download an external tool such as imgburn.
Step 3 – Boot up with the CD
Reboot your target system while this disc is still in the CD drive and boot the PC from this disc. Kon-boot does not require a manual startup. Press any key when the Kryptos Logic symbol appears on the screen.
Step 4 – Done!
Kon-Boot will do the magic for you from here. If you followed the instructions, you should now have bypassed windows login screen without knowing the credentials. Cool!
